My 18 yr. old son, Christopher was on his way back to college last week when he wreck in 10 degree weather, it was late and dark and he started running to get help but he was scared and kept turning around and looking behind him and fell and hit the back of his head and doesn't know how long he was out but he got back up and made it too the nearest house for help, they got him an ambulance to the hospital where he was checked out and release to go home even though he wasn't 100%. Later on that evening he was getting more disoriented not knowing where he was at. So I took him back to the same hospital and asked them to do a CT scan on his head because I knew something was not right with him, they asked him a few questions and told me it was not necessary... so after being there for hours late at night I decided to take him home and go to a different hospital in the morning, but when I woke up he was not there, so my friend and I started looking all over town for him. Meanwhile we heard of an high speed chase going on in our small town but wasn't really concerned cause we were too busy looking for Christopher after hours of not finding him we decided to get the police involved in the search. So we call to the police station for help, only find out to my disbelief that it was my only son who was in the high speed chase and that they were charging him with 5 felony charges and my whole world was flipped upside down because I know my son and he is a law abiding citizen who would never do this in a million years. He is a straight "A" student who's is a member of the National Honor Society and Oklahoma All State Academic recipient and has received numerous awards for his academic excellence. He is the smartest person I have the privilege of knowing. He was attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University to become a teacher. And now he is being held at Caddo County Jail in a padded room with a 250,000 dollar bond. And I don't understand why no one is getting him the medical attention that he clearly needs cause he's not talking or acting right. But I'm a single parent with limited income and I can't afford a lawyer to help my son and it's heart breaking and killing me knowing he's not himself and don't know what is happening to my son, if his brain is swelling or if he's having a mental breakdown or worse schizophrenia. Being locked up in solitary confinement is not helping him. He does not even understand what a calling card is to call me. None of this makes sense and it saddens me. The prosecutors think he's a dangerous criminal. If they had ever meet him they would know he is not in his right mind. He would never do anything like this. I'm asking for funds for legal help, more importantly medical help for my son, who has unlimited potential of making this world a better place.
