My names Laura and I regularly do charity fundraising for the local area. I live in Heysham myself, and have woken up to the tragic news that some of our local families have had to go through the most horrific ordeal of a gas explosion during the early hours of this morning. This has affected more than one house, and caused huge devastating effects to people on this road.

My thoughts are with those families who have been affected by this tragic event, especially to the family who has sadly lost a child. I can not even begin to comprehend what these families are going through right now, but would like to be able to help towards funeral costs, hospital , temp housing costs etc, and generally helping out where we can.

Please dig deep, I know money is tight for everyone right now, but imagine if this was your family, your friends having to go through this. If we can help the families who really need it right now, then I'm sure we can as a community can help them through this hard time.

I am aware that there are other go fund me pages, but I wanted to set up this page to shoe my support and collect as much money as possible.

I have been collecting money for the past 5 years within the local area for various charities and worthy causes. I have collected for the homeless, women's refuge, at the start of lockdown I filled a van for the foodbank for Laura's door stop challenge, and filled my car full of toys for the children's ward Christmas toy appeal, which have all been extremely successful.

All proceeds from this go fund me campaign will go towards rebuilding lives and George's family directly.
