Hester Marla - Flood Relief
Donation protected
My cousin, Hester Marla, has lost her home and possibly her vehicle - and has no flood insurance. Similar story with thousands of others in the Gulf Coast. She lives in Kelliwood subdivision, upstream from Barker Reservoir. Her neighborhood was under mandatory evacuation and as of Saturday, the 2nd, it still is. She, and her neighbors, were evacuated by boat on Tuesday morning with little notice.
She was able to go back Thursday evening and get a couple of coolers/bags of things for work, like her laptop and monitor. At this time, they still do not know when the mandatory evacuation will be lifted. As soon as it is, she will need help and resources to 'fix' her home and stop it from moving to unsalvageable status.
Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. If you can volunteer to pack up items/sanitize them and into storage, that would so appreciated as well. Please send me a note in messenger or FaceBook if you can.
My cousin is a survivor in many ways, including breast cancer. She always jumps in with both feet to help out and to celebrate life. Last year, when I couldn't, she volunteered and took over my brother's funeral arrangements (btw - his name was Harvey).
I know Marla HATES asking for help as we all do, but anything you can spare will surely add up to help her out.
