Herman’s battle with cancer

On March 2018, Herman went to the hospital after waking up with an intense back pain. After a series of test, he was diagnosed with stage 4 anaplastic large T cell lymphoma. After 5 short months of tests and chemotherapy, Herman lost his battle against this rare type of cancer. He passed away mid afternoon on Thursday, September 6, 2018 while surrounded by loved ones.  

Herman has always done everything in his power to ensure his family was taken care of. He was the sole earner in the Sieveking household for many years and as a result of his illness was left unable to work. His wife Penny was left with no other option but to work in a difficult and physically strenuous construction job,that offers no insurance, to make ends meet during this difficult time. His children Daniela, Fernanda, and Sandro all went through extraordinary measures to help their mom and each other during this unexpected time. 

Herman is leaving behind his loving and strong wife, Penny; his eager and charismatic children Fernanda, Sandro, Daniela; his gleeful 11-month old grandson, Alessandro and many more friends and family in Canada and his native country, Chile.

Having a sick family member is challenging enough without having to deal with the financial struggles that comes afterward.

All donations made will go towards the extensive funeral and burial expenses.
