Herbie The Cat

DONATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED BUT PLEASE SHARE TO RAISE AWARENESS AND HELP HERBIE THE CAT & CRUELTY TO ANIMALS This is Herbie, When we got him, we adopted him from the RSPCA 5 years ago, after he had a traumatic beginning in life, He was abused to no end and was rescued, and we gave him a loving home. Up until  22.11.2019 , there have never been any problems, he adapted to life with us and had THRIVED. He now has 2 other cats as brothers (not biologically, but you get what I mean) and had the life of a normal cat, all be it timid and wary of people, which with his background, who could blame him? He was let out of the house into the back garden midday and my dad watched him sat on the top of a neighbours shed, looking around, when he made a sudden movement, but he wasn't running off or moving, it was like he toppled over and tried to save himself from falling, and he quickly made his way back to the back door of the house, that was left open. My mother then heard him meowing, and the leaned down to fuss him, she saw a trickle of blood down his nose and went to clean him up, thinking he had scratched himself. when she saw him properly, up close she screamed and practically sobbed. His left eye was protruding from his face, dilating, it wasn't following any movements with the other eye, and as more time passed, it seemed to swell, and hang out of his face more... we instantly knew someone had done this deliberately! no way could him sitting on the top of a shed done this to him. I took him to the vets for her as she was in such a state... she physically couldn't go. She was petrified... We got him there and the vet instantly said that the pressure of whatever it was, it was like he had been hit with a car! within minutes she said he eye couldn't be saved and he needed the surgery and he needed it now. We agreed and the vets cancelled any and all appointments as they needed all the manpower they had.  After the surgery the vet said, call the police and the RSPCA, while doing surgery on Herbie, we found the source of the problem, IT WAS A PELLET. Someone had hung out of their top floor window, aimed at him, right between the eyes and shot him, clearly aiming to kill him. This person lives in the next street as that is the direction the gun was shot from... and their back garden sare parallel to each other. He was doing no wrong but sat on a shed a few doors up from my mothers' house, in her street. Unfortunately, they could not retrieve the pellet as it was almost touching his brain. The vet cannot say whether this will cause any trouble for Herbie in the future, and has been checked today, he is doing very well post-op and my sister slept downstairs with him last night, as we were all worried about him. the surgery in total cost £700. We knew straight away that we were paying it, there is no way we couldn't save out poor boy, but that was all the money that was left for Christmas.  So I'm asking this, could you PLEASE spare anything as little as £1 to help towards Herbie's vet bill? We will be ever so grateful for any help our Herbie will receive! He did not deserve this, nor will any other animal in the world.  please share this to let everyone know that there are evil people like this in the world! this little man hasn't got a voice, so we will speak for him! #HerbieTheCat
