The Diani4kids project was founded 6 years ago by Mrs Stella in Diani, near Mombasa (Kenya) with the mission and vision to offer a fair and quality education to all children regardless of their social and economic background.
This project aims to build a better community and eliminate poverty through education.
The project is managed by Stella and supported by a group of friends from Italy, Germany and the USA. We started in a very small place, with simple construction; year after year we have added more rooms, children's desks, toilets, a small kitchen, extetnal walls, playing area and we have also bought the building that was originally rented.
This year due to the coronavirus and many new government regulations, all schools must be registered and checked. After months of closure, we finally got permission to reopen; so we made the school safe in accordance with Covid regulations and were finally able to return the childrens to class two months ago!
But now we risk to be forced to close permanently because the external ground of the structure was considered too small by the government. The Ministry of Education requested the extend our property with a land bordering the school at least ¼ ha large, and gave us 3 months to solve the problem. We must collect the needed money within 10th of May to avoid the school closure.
This project survives thanks to all donations from tourists who visit the site but during the past year it is easy to understand that this income has been almost zero.

Questo progetto vuole costruire una comunità migliore ed eliminare la povertà attraverso l'istruzione.
Il progetto è gestito da Stella come direttrice della scuola e supportato da un gruppo di amici provenienti da Italia, Germania e USA. Abbiamo iniziato in un luogo molto angusto, con una costruzione semplice e poche stanze; anno dopo anno abbiamo aggiunto altre stanze, scrivanie per bambini, servizi igienici, una piccola cucina, pareti esterne, area giochi e inoltre abbiamo anche acquistato l'edificio che originariamente era affittato.
Quest'anno a causa del coronavirus e di molte regole del governo Keniota, tutte le scuole devono essere registrate e controllate. Dopo mesi di chiusura, finalmente abbiamo avuto il permesso di riaprire; così abbiamo messo in sicurezza secondo norme Covid la scuola e potuto finalmente tornare i ragazzi in classe due mesi fa!
Ora però rischiamo di dover chiudere definitivamente perchè la superficie destinata alla struttura è stata considerata troppo piccola dal governo . Il Ministero dell'istruzione Keniota ha richiesto un terreno confinante con la scuola grande almeno ¼ ha, e ci ha dato 3 mesi per risolvere il problema. Se non compriamo il terreno entro il 10/05/2021 la scuola dovrà chiudere!
Questo progetto sopravvive grazie alle donazioni dei turisti che visitano il sito ma durante lo scorso anno è facile capire che questo reddito è stato quasi nullo.
Abbiamo assolutamente bisogno del supporto di quante più persone siano in grado di aiutarci!

Das Diani4kids-Projekt wurde vor 6 Jahren von Frau Stella in Diani bei Mombasa (Kenia) mit dem Ziel und der Vision gegründet, allen Kindern unabhängig von ihrem sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Hintergrund eine faire und qualitativ hochwertige Ausbildung zu bieten.
Dieses Projekt zielt darauf ab, eine bessere Gemeinschaft aufzubauen und Armut durch Bildung zu beseitigen. Das Projekt ist ein so genanntes Non-profit Projekt, dass heisst, es finanziert sich ohne staatliche Zuschüsse ausschließlich aus Spenden.
Das Projekt wird von Stella geleitet und von einer Gruppe von Freunden aus Italien, Deutschland und den USA unterstützt. Wir begannen an einem sehr kleinen Ort mit einem sehr einfachen Schulgebäude und nur 2 Klassenzimmern im Jahr 2015. Jahr für Jahr haben wir weitere Klassenräume, Schultische, Toiletten, eine kleine Küche, eine Umfassungsmauer um das Objekt und einen Spielbereich hinzugefügt und das ursprünglich gemietete Grundstück und Gebäude gekauft.
In diesem Jahr müssen aufgrund des Coronavirus und vieler staatlicher Vorschriften alle Schulen registriert und überprüft werden. Nach Monaten der Schließung erhielten wir endlich die Erlaubnis, wieder zu öffnen, da wir alle Corona Vorschriften umgesetzt haben und die Kinder vor zwei Monaten endlich wieder den Unterricht besuchen konnten.
Jetzt besteht jedoch die Gefahr, dass wir dauerhaft schließen müssen, da die für die Anzahl der Schulkinder vorhandene Grundfläche von der Regierung als zu klein angesehen wurde. Das Bildungsministerium beauflagte den Kauf von Land an der Schule von mindestens ¼ ha und gab uns 3 Monate Zeit, um das Problem zu lösen. Eine Miete eines anliegenden Grundstückes, wie von uns in Erwägung gezogen, ist leider nicht erlaubt. Die von der Regierung gesetzte Frist zum Kauf eines angrenzenden Grundstückes endet am 10.05.2021
Dieses Projekt überlebte bisher in den letzten 6 Jahren auch dank der Spenden von Touristen, die die Schule besuchten, aber seit einem Jahr gibt es in Kenia wie in anderen Ländern durch die Corona Pandemie keine Touristen mehr und so fiel diese lebensnotwendige Unterstützung weg.
Deshalb brauchen wir unbedingt die Unterstützung so vieler Menschen, wie uns helfen können, damit dieses Projekt überlebt und viele Kinder weiterhin Zugang zu Bildung und auch täglichen Mahlzeiten bekommen.
