HEPA Air Purification for Pinellas Cty. Classrooms

We are raising money for HEPA filtration units to be placed in every classroom at Midtown Academy Elementary School in St. Petersburg, FL. Filtration of air in classrooms provides an added layer of mitigation to keep our children safer in classrooms during a global pandemic . We all want our kids to be in school! Portable HEPA air filtration units will help keep them safe while they are there. Please donate as much as you feel comfortable - $5, $50, $100, $1000 - every bit helps.  The more classrooms we can equip with these filters, the safer all of the children will be!

100% of the funds will be used to buy and install HEPA filtration units in every classroom. "HEPA" is a type of pleated mechanical air filter. It is an acronym for "high efficiency particulate air [filter]" (as officially defined by the U.S. Dept. of Energy). This type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm)." - EPA

We would like to order and install HEPA filtration units within the first month of the 2021-2022 school year. We will strive to pool these resources to attract corporate donors, and to purchase the quietest models that move the highest volume of air in a given amount of time. This will minimize distraction and maximize clean air. We target brands that offer HEPA filtration rated to H-13 or above, however the final brand will be determined by now much we are able to attract with this fundraiser.

We are targeting an amount that would allow high-capacity FDA-approved NASA developed air filtration units in each classroom . If we exceed our target, we will distribute units to other schools beyond Midtown!
