Hurricane Harvey Animal Rescue

Tax deductible

Hemlock Edge is gearing up to come to the rescue for Hurricane Harvey victims, Human and animal!
Hemlock made a huge impact during the LA flood of 2016' by volunteering their man power to shelters that were wiped out by the Flood, they spend hours each day working and doing their best to help by rebuilding, cleaning and donating over 1000lbs of dog/cat food to local red cross drop off locations and over loaded shelters. Even donating dog/cat food to Villalobos to hold for residents dog owners in need! Hemlock pulled over dozen resident dogs from 2 spcas in NOLA to make room for the over flow of Flood dogs coming in. Also assisting local surrenders an Animal Control
Hemlock is ready to go back and do it all again!!

Our goal is to help us afford gas & repairs/Maintence to our cargo to prepare for the Farthest distance misson we have done so far.  Our few days board in any hotel we can find close enough to damage areas. Supplies needed for the dogs we take and also any emergency vetting we may need!
Gas has risen over $8 a gallon in some places.
We plan to depart this Saturday Labor day! The rains are still hitting the LA/TX areas and will continue till the end of this week.  We need to reach our goal by time the storm passes so we can get there and be able to enter the areas!
Resident dogs in the outter shelters are at higher risk than normal for euth during crisis because they are taking up too much space for immediate dogs that need holding for owners to reclaim. That is a very sad fact and Hemlock is on a mission to relieve those poor souls.
The floods are completely devastating and heartbreaking, very trying to all residents and volunteers.
But its the job of a rescue group, and Hemlock Edge is going to work!
Our Goal has risen by exceeding expections and also we have had our Transport Cargo in the shop today make sure we are set for cross counrty. And our AC unit needs work and we need tirss, ours are pretty bald from all the miles we put on since last january. SO we are hoping ot set aside $800 for tires and get our AIR running full force..The animals in the van need the AC if we fill to max copasity(50animals). Which we intend to do. Its going to be so hot and humid ad the odors are going to be so strong we need the cool air circulation. Our tires are a must, what we will be driving through and over will blow out or bald tires.

*Update 9/2
We are on the road as of today! We have been in contact with the local shelters and the animals are going to be in need of emergency care. We have raised our goal to be able to ensure that we can help provide them with the care and supplies these animals will need. We plan to provide the extra monies raised to the shelters in devastation and the other Pennsylvania rescues stepping up to help house these dogs on arrival.

WE NEED YOUR HELP,  WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SPONSOR OUR MISSION AND THIS IS YOUR WAY TO DO YOUR PART FROM AFAR. YOU CAN FOLLOW HEMLOCK EDGE RESCUES JOURNEY ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE AND SEE HOW YOUR DONATIONS ARE CARING THEM THROUGH THEIR MISSION!
