Hello Friends and Family,
On April 29, after what he thought would be a routine visit to the ER for stomache pain, our close friend Xavier, ended up undergoing an emergency surgery to remove what the Doctors had found on his CT scan... Instead of a bad appendix it was two tumor masses inside his intestine. After having a colon resection done where they cut off a peice of your large intestine and sew it back up together, he ended up walking out of the ER 7days later with a diagnosis of an aggressive type of Colon Adenocarcinoma or Stage 4 Colon Cancer and sent from SJ Regional Medical to Stanford Cancer Institute to seek better advice regarding care for this rare and aggressive type of cancer in such a young person.
Adding to the concern of fighting off the aggressive disease is the worry of paying for expensive treatments insurance co pays/deductibles and other medical related expenses.
This fund has been set up to help Xavier pay for alternative medicine in addition to the very costly chemo and radiation therapy that he will be starting in June once he is fully recovered from his abdominal surgery.
Xavier is also looking to visit the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD, one of the top cancer centers in the word; for a second opinion to make sure he is receiving the correct and best treatment possible.
It’s never fun to ask for money, but this is the best way we can support our friend while he literally fights for his life. For those of you who personally know Xavier, I'm sure you know he would do the same for ANY of his friends.
