Tricia is an elementary school teacher who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in July of this past year. She has consistently worked in the classroom with her students as much as she could throughout her various cancer treatments. And this morning, she returned to the classroom with the intention of continuing to work through her final phase of treatment, her radiation therapy.
Tricia's journey with cancer began when she found an abnormal lump under her right breast. Before chemo could even be started, the pea-sized tumor grew to goose egg proportions, and the fight to save her life was on...
Tricia was immediatley scheduled to begin chemo treatments. What that entailed, and how it would affect her physically and mentally, we were not prepared for. Tricia's energy often bottomed out, and she leaned on me, her husband, for so many things. Thankfully, she has wonderful and supportive school administrators and co-workers who volunteered to help when and where they could. They raised money and even did a bake sale for her to help with expenses, but it wasn't nearly enough to pay the bills.
After Tricia's chemo shrank her tumors (other tumors were discovered in her left breast), Tricia's doctors recommended a bilateral (double) mastectomy to be followed by radiation therapy. As you can imagine, the cost of these procedures is astronomical. So, Tricia had both breasts removed on the 19th of December. With all of her hair gone and both breasts gone, I have to tell you that she is still the beautiful vision of loveliness I married over 12 years ago, and this is why I am asking for your help; I want to keep her that way.
My biggest and best Christmas present this year was bringing my bride home, knowing that she was going to be with me for many more years to come.
Tricia still has to heal from the surgery, and then she has to go through radiation therapy, and we have to pay for it all. The costs are in the thousands of dollars, so we need your help to pay these bills. Please, won't you join us on this incredible journey? And remember, EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS! No donation is too small. Give whatever amount you are able. With that, we say, "From the depth of our hearts, thank you!"
