Shara's Medical Fund

At the age of 22, Shara  was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma which she overcame through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Six years ago, after 19 years in remission, she  found out that it had returned to her lungs.  Over the past six years, she has fought the disease with multiple surgeries, oral chemotherapy, and most recently, immunotherapy. Unfortunately, more surgery is not an option, and the oral chemo and immunotherapy have stopped working. She has been accepted into an intesive clinical study at the NIH which will require her to be hospitalized during the treatment for 30 days. Following the treatment there is a nearly 30 day recovery period. This is requiring her to take at least two months off of work, and while she has short term disability, this benefit does not cover all of her salary or the increased expenses that her family will incur during this time. We are hoping to raise enough money to bridge the gap. Her treatment starts in September and we are praying that we can ease this burden before she goes into the hospital. Please pray for Shara and that the treatment is successful and halts the progression of the disease.
