Help Replace Jason's Guitar
TRANSPARENCY UPDATE: (9.06.12)
What a ridiculous roller coaster. It turns out that insurance WOULD HAVE covered the cost of the guitar. The check was being cut for a significant amount, and as I was calling local stores to see what they had in stock I found out that my stolen Larrivee had been bought in used at the Guitar Center one town over. After going through the proper legal channels, it has now been returned to me. It suffered a few bruises and the case and harmonicas are gone, but it came home. For a more in depth version of the story, please visit my blog...
So if anyone would like their donation refunded, I COMPLETELY understand. Please do not hesitate to let me know, and I will be contacting each of the donors personally as well. All donations that are not refunded will go towards the guitar that is being built for me. Thank you again so very much for your generosity and kindness, and may God bless you abundantly for your willingness to give.
TRANSPARENCY UPDATE: (8.29.12)
To all of you who have donated towards this cause, thank you so much. Many of you who have my personal contact info have chosen to donate to me directly, and those totals have been posted anonymously so that the confidentiality of the giver is protected, but also so that others can see how much has been given. At this point, after only a week of fundraising, I have achieved my initial goal of $1500 and I am suspending this campaign. This is the bare minimum that I felt I could replace what was lost with, and my research since that time has proven the estimate to be just about right.
When the loss of the guitar occurred, the Pastor and I did not think it would be covered under the Church's insurance policy because it was not Church Property. We contacted them anyway and there is a chance that it may, in fact, be covered. We are awaiting details such as deductibles, possible premium increases, etc. before we proceed with a claim. I will post those details when I get them. If all or part of the cost of replacement is covered, I would be more than happy to refund the donation of anyone who requests that. Again, I cannot express how deeply touched I have been by your generosity, and I pray that the Lord blesses you as much as you have blessed me...
ORIGINAL POST:
Hello friends. Unfortunately I must report that my beloved Larrivee Acoustic, along with its carrying case that also contained several harmonicas and accessories, was stolen a few days ago from my Church's Sanctuary. As many of you know, I am on staff as the Worship Leader at The Well in Pineville, NC. Both the Pastor and I leave our instruments there regularly, and as far as we can tell nothing else was taken, but it still leaves me at a sincere disadvantage when it comes time to lead the congregation on Sundays and Wednesdays. I am left-handed so I can't even borrow one for the short-term. My wife and I are expecting our first child any day now, and we definitely do not have money to replace it ourselves...
