Help Owl and Bryan Find Secure Housing

Hello!  We are Owl and Bryan, two QTPOC artists who are simply trying to navigate through this chaotic world. 

Owl & I are looking for housing because we have been suddenly displaced. We both had stable housing situations that were unexpectedly swept away from us during the covid pandemic.  All we want is to live together!  Owl's housing was stable in Philadelphia, until we sought to live together in Owl's house...  Owl has had ongoing issues with housemates, stemming from anti-blackness and rent-raising. I also live in Philadelphia, and suddenly felt compelled to leave because of a betrayal of trust with my roommate who stole money from my bedroom, adding to a toxic environment in which I can no longer exist. Originally, Owl's housemates invited me to move in with them.  However, they changed their minds abruptly citing coronavirus issues, and broke their trust with Owl during the decision-making process. Owl's mother then offered us housing in Richmond, VA and then quickly took it away.  

We want to move to California, possibly to Oakland or Los Angeles. Owl wants to further their career in yoga instruction.  Owl particularly
seeks to decolonize yoga, bringing the knowledge & practice to black & brown
people. I want to further my career in filmmaking, which involves work in community media.  Having been involved with a number of Philadelphia media production organizations such as Scribe Video Center & PhillyCAM for over a decade, I seek to continue the work I have done in Philly across the country and across the world. 

It shouldn't be so hard for us to secure housing ... but it always is. We need to make money so that we don't have to apply to jobs that we don't love and waste our talent on menial work that sucks our souls away.  We have big dreams!  We've been combining our talents by creating yoga videos together and we want to continue to build our platform!  Please help us do that.
