HELP OSCAR GET A NEW LOOK!
Pac, now named Oscar, arrived at ACCT Philadelphia in rough shape after suffering from a trauma. He had a raging URI that had spread to his eye and was noted on exam to have a misaligned jaw. He was dirty and skinny, but that didn’t stop him from rubbing all over us and moving around to make it easier for his humans to scratch the best spots. He was seen by The Philly Kitty’s routine vet, Colmar Veterinary Hospital, and immediately scheduled for enucleation of his grossly infected eye as well as skull xrays while anesthetized to evaluate his jaw issue. It was noted that both his maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw) have a fracture and because of this, his mandible is completely shifted out of normal joint alignment.

After further consultation with Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, it was determined that to correct his injury and jaw alignment, he needs the maxilla and mandible separately fixated with wire to repair the fractures. This is expected to allow the joint to realign correctly. Due to the nature of a fracture and to prevent further complications possible due to the unknown timing of his injury, this repair needs to be done immediately.

Oscar will undergo surgery immediately at Metropolitan Vet. The estimate for the initial repair is $3,250-3,408 and the estimate for removal of the wire once the fracture is healed is $1,221-1,400. Please help Oscar fund his new look!
