Ease a Mother's Passing
Last month Alyssa was given a final terminal diagnosis. After 5+ surgeries, she had no choice but to move in with Niah’s Dad, Anthony, who has been supporting everyone. The cancer took her entire colon and moved on to her stomach and liver.
Surviving The Transition
To make matters worse, the house they are living in was sold (they are living with a Sale Pending sign in the yard) and the new landlord has mentioned moving in, essentially forcing an eviction while they are grieving Alyssa's passing. Anthony is working multiple jobs and unsure of how they will keep a roof over their heads, let alone grieve Alyssa's passing and help his daughter figure out how to live without her mother.
We are raising money to help Anthony and Niah keep a roof over their heads and move on with some stability and comfort while they adjust to Alyssa’s absence.
What will the money be used for?
Alyssa passed today, (Oct 14, 2016) so funds will immediately be used for medical expenses incurred and costs to cover her passing and last wishes.
Moving
Because of the astronomical cost of living in San Francisco, moving to a new place (deposit + first and last month’s rent) will cost upward of $15,000. It’s important that Niah stay in her school. It’s the only stability she has for the near future, as she has a counselor and friends to support her.
Funerary Arrangements
Alyssa’s funeral may cost as much as $10,000.
Help Anthony & Niah Move On
The remaining $10,000 will be used to help Anthony raise Niah as a single parent while he works. Whatever you can help them to start again will make a world of difference in easing unimaginable pain.
Anthony has asked that people only donate what they are able, being sure to make sure their financial obligations are met first. Please *share* this campaign on social media.
