Some would say when life throws you lemons make lemonade, not me I would yell let's make a Sculpture! As a graduate of NC A&T SU, I have learned that growth only comes through adversity. Although I received my BA degree in Fine Art concentrating in Sculpture and Ceramics; I began my career at A&T as a Scientist studying Biology. The skills and knowledge I learned in the laboratory and classroom allowed me to thrive as an Artist, especially as a Ceramist.
As the current President of the NC A&T Alumni and Friends Scholarship and Homecoming Exhibition I understand the importance of community support, and at this moment I need your help! I was accepted into a post-baccalaureate program in Florence Italy (Studio Art College International, SACI), this program strives as a catalyst to becoming an iconic Sculptor and international Artist . I have only dreamed of visiting Florence, and now I have the chances of gaining steps toward fulfilling my purpose of being an interdisciplinary Sculptor in the footsteps of masters. The goal above will be used to secure my spot this Fall 2017, register for classes and to receive information for the Italian embassy for visa and to cover embassy fees. I hope you understand that I don't take this likely; that I value each of you that find it in your heart to give to the cause of furthering my career and education! I strive to show the next generation that anything is obtainable if you put in the work! Please help me make my dream a reality! I'm truly thankful for every penny!
