Last month my dad collapsed and had to be rushed to the emergency room. After many hours of waiting, we found out that he had a hole in his stomach that was leading to sepsis and that he would need surgery. My dad had his surgery and ended up having to spend about a week in the ICU to get control of the infection that the whole had caused. He had many blood tests, upper GI's, and x-rays before he was moved to normal patient care. He spent a remaining three weeks in the hospital before coming home to me.
After arriving home, my dad had to have a home health care nurse come out and take care of him. He is on TPN, which is a feeding bag with medication in it. As a result, we also have the expenses of home health care AND the medical supply rental and medication.
My dad is now in the hospital again to get stints removed, and it suddenly dawned on me that even though my dad has health insurance, this horrible thing that happened to him is bascially going to bankrupt him. I don't like asking for help and neither does my dad, but having a hospital keep you alive these days means going for poor. So if anyone would like to donate to help with my dad's medical expenses, I would be immensely grateful! ALL of the donations made will go to him so that he will be able to get back on track that much sooner! Thank you all.
