As many of you know, the last two weeks have seen two major earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.1 and greater, which has caused catastrophic loss of life and destruction to thousands of homes, businesses and infrastructure in two different regions of Mexico.
Other fundraisers and organizations are doing a wonderful job to collect money and/or items to cover people people’s basic needs. However, working with family and friends in Mexico, we would like your help to raise money to cover the cost of transporting industrial cranes and other equipment, which are urgently needed to remove concrete structures to enable rescue operations to continue saving lives.
Our target sum of $10,000 USD would cover the cost of transport and fuel to mobilize the cranes and equipment to the affected areas, buying the tools and supplies as they are requested by the people doing the rescue operations. Any balance of money leftover will be utilized for necessary materials to rebuild homes for the families who have lost everything.
The funds raised in this campaign will be transferred by GoFundMe in US Dollars into the account of Enrique Gomez (who is Marlene's and my uncle). After which, Marlene will withdrawal the money in Mexican Pesos at site, on an as needed basis to pay for equipment, tools, supplies, etc, that are required.
