An amazing man I know - Richie Flores from Austin, TX is heading down to Houston with his big moving truck - that he has outfitted for crates and supplies - to help with the rescue of animals and people caught in the flood.
Please donate generously so he has plenty of gas, food, water, and supplies for the trip.
Here are his words:
It's time for action. On Wednesday the 30th I'll be lending our 4x4 lifted vehicle for the rescue efforts and a 16 foot trailer. The call for Seva is now! Please everyone - I'm asking for donations. Non-perishable food items, water, clothes, 1 large canoe, fuel money, equipment funding. I know we'll need to store fuel and refuel our own diesel because fuel is scarce. A cheap tank is about 300 bucks. But it'll give us longer range to rescue people and animals without getting stranded. My trailer has a generator and 1 portable a.c. so we can temporary have a resting area till we find a shelter for them. The generators will provide a charging station for the people to charge their phones. So they can contact their families. It'll also provide power for the a.c. unit that I have. If anyone has a portable a.c. unit your not using it'll help. We can return it when I get back. Power strips or extension cords for the charging stations also. I want to thank you on behalf of all the people we'll be saving. We'll keep updates through Facebook. Thank You for helping me live my dreams and now I ask us all to come together to create miracles for our planet!!!
