*❤️Yesterday. On September 26th I lost the two greatest and most influential people in my life. I was On FaceTime with them both the night before and they both were just beaming to hear from me. We exchanged small talk and exchanged the casual “I love You” before concluding the call. I didn’t know that would be the last time I would ever hear from them. I bought the hoodie you see my mom wearing and every time I saw her since buying it she would wear it. No matter how hot it was she refused to take it off. I remember her telling my dad how proud she was and how I really came out great... I’m the man I am today because of them. As many of you know my younger brother and I are adopted. They believed in us when we had absolutely nothing and no one. Most people saw two angry little problem kids, Instead they saw two incredibly hurt boys that needed someone to love them. I remember my dad used to take me out in ungodly hours of the night with his little black pickup and we’d drive in the middle of no where and set up a telescope and he would teach me the constellations and the stars. I often marvled at them... But the two biggest stars of my life were the ones right in front of me. Who took me in and showed they cared for me and loved me so much. That they know I’ve been hurt but they showed me I had another option now. They gave me a better life. I wouldn’t have traded my time with them for the world. I wish I could call you... tell you I love you one more time.. tell you both how much you guys changed and inspired me. How I still go out and look at the stars at night because it made me feel close to you. I wish you could hug me and tell me it’ll be ok. Or ruffle my hair and call me silly and your “best boy” or buster brown. I love you both. God must’ve really needed you both up there. Now when I look at the stars I’ll do it knowing that there’s two new ones somewhere shining brighter than ever.❤️*
