Helping the people of Haiti

Hello...

Let us introduce ourselves first and foremost. My name is Marcia and my husbands' name is Belony. I came to Canada in 1989 from Jamaica and met my husband in Toronto at a church while visiting some friends. Belony and I became friends and eventually got married in 1992. My husband left his country, Haiti, as a young man. Belony not only is hard working but also a man with a big heart. He longed to go back in his country and give a helping hand to those people in need. When we're on vacation and there is so much food, it would make him sad, because he knew that that there are some poor people who doen't have anything to eat.
A few years back, a young girl from Haiti lost her mother and end up living with her sister. The elder sister gave us a call to ask if we can pay her sisters' school fee so she can go to school. And so we did pay for that year and each term she would call. Belony did not stop until she completely finish her school.
We wanted to do more and to help as many people as we can. We decided to use our life savings and bought a piece of land in Communic Ganthier La Mardelle. Our plan and goal is to have a day school program, trades program for young adults, breakfast before school program, an orphanage and lastly a church.
The buying of the US dollar has eaten up a big portion of our money. We have a big project and so we are asking everyone to help us.
