Helping the Kimbrough’s

On May 30th 2020 Danny Kimbrough has a spontaneous SAH (subarachnoid hemorrhage). He was rushed to Helen Keller ER where they found an extensive bleed with poor prognosis. He was then flew to UAB by Air Evac to the NSSU (NeuroSurgery Surgical Unit) and had an EVD placed by Neurosurgery to help with the hydrocephalus . We were told again they grave condition and that he would likely not make it. He was placed on a ventilator and underwent multiple hours of surgery for a coiling procedure for aneurysm repair. The procedure went well. He has been fighting for his life and with the help of God almighty and lots of great medical workers he has overcame the poor statistics the family was given. 

He is still in the NICU and will remain here for at least another week. We hope to be able to go to the step down unit then. He is still in very critical condition but is off the ventilator. His EVD remains in. The Doctors are trying to raise his pop-off pressures daily but Dad is becoming more lethargic and less alert as the pressure increases.  If this continues he will have a shunt placed at some point. He has a long recovery but we have God and endless amounts of love around us. 

We have started a small go fund me account to help assist the family with travel expenses, room cost, and whatever bills we start to receive for medical care. We are staying close by at the hotel connected to UAB. We have someone down here at all times to stay and help assist in Daddy’s care. We want to be by his side for any improvements he has  

We ask for prayers for continued healing, for the medical staff and Doctors, and for our family as our rock and glue that sticks us together  is healing. We love you all and thank you.
