Helping the Housman's

Hello Everyone! My name is Brandi and I am on a mission to help 2 of my favorite people in the world, through 1 of the hardest processes in the world!

This is Jessica and Chris Housman. They are AMAZING people.  You are probably thinking “Yea yea yea, I bet they are” but seriously, they truly are. If you have ever been around them, even for a brief moment, you already know this!  They have been on a LONG, PAINFUL INFERTILITY JOURNEY.  They were very hesitant to share their struggle and journey but they are in need of some help.

    It all started back in 2014, when Jessica and Chris decided they were ready to start a family. So, like any young active couple, they thought this process was going to fun and easy.

Unfortunately, sometimes it’s WAY more complicated than that. They soon found that out, the hard way. After months and years, of negative pregnancy tests, ovulation tracking apps, and trying multiple fertility boosting suggestions, they both went through invasive and extensive testing only to be diagnosed with “unexplained infertility.” (Yes! That is actually a thing and Yes! It is insanely frustrating to learn that!)

    With all the bad news and difficult reminders surrounding them constantly, their journey got harder.  Jessica, who happens to be the most positive person I know on earth, was struggling with anxiety and depression. She started going to therapy to cope with all the humiliation, devastation and embarrassment that comes along with not being able to conceive. The constant questions, “What is wrong with us?” “Why can’t we get pregnant?”  It is human nature to get jealous and envious of the people around you whose families are growing, although they are happy for them, they still ask WHY?

Chris, who has already taken on the role of husband, best friend, and Jessica’s rock, has now become her nurse and has already administered 50+ shots into Jessica’s stomach and thigh.

    On a positive note, they have dropped to their knees and looked to God for answers and hope.  This process has led them to find a church family at River of LIfe in Sauk Centre. What a blessing it has been! They are building lifelong friendships while getting their spiritual lives on track.

    So here’s the deal, they have had 4 failed IUI attempts. The next step is IVF and it is EX-PEN-SIVE! Insurance does not help with this process, so it is all out of their pockets.

Let me break it down for you:

4 Failed IUI’s= $6,000

IVF= $ 24,700

Meds = $3,200

Total so far = $33,900

That does not include traveling back and forth to all the appointments, future pre/post-natal care, and labor and delivery.

This is the part I ask for help.

Let’s be part of their journey! Let’s help them with the financial burden and relieve some of the stress that comes with it. Anyone who has children knows the joy they bring and knows that you can’t put a price on it. For those of you who have been through this process , you know the how taxing it can be both emotionally and financially.
