Helping the Dietz Family

Chances are you've found this fundraiser because your life has been impacted by the wonderful Dietz Family. Whether you know the Dietz family personally or through Lindsey’s blog at allthenourishingthings.com , you know they are a very special family that cares for everyone.

In late 2018, Lindsey started having some health problems that weren't going away with the usual treatments. Not having answers and declining quality of life amped up Lindsey's anxiety and depression.

In January and February of 2019, Lindsey began to find some answers and started to get some physical healing – but her mental health struggled to recover. The costs of treating her diagnoses also contributed to her anxiety, as the Dietz family is caught in the gap of not qualifying for state health coverage while not being able to afford insurance.

Seeking a diagnosis and treatment included multiple ER visits, a CT scan, sonograms, appointments with specialists, a trip across the country, and more. None of which is cheap.

Throughout all of this, Lindsey continued to openly share her struggles on social media to empower others going through similar experiences. The goal of her transparency was to show that no one is perfect and that no one is alone in these struggles. This included being entirely open about her mental health struggles, sharing what depression looks and feels like, trying medication, etc.

In early March 2019, Lindsey and David decided that she needed to seek in-patient care for her depression. She could no longer find joy in living and was experiencing frequent suicidal thoughts. This was a very hard decision to make, especially because they knew that the costs will most likely be astronomical without insurance.

As those who care deeply for Lindsey, we know there is no price tag on her life or anyone's life. We want Lindsey and David to not have to worry about the mounting medical debt and focus on healing. We do not know what the final costs will be, and they are seeking whatever assistance programs the care facilities offer. Lindsey also needs further treatment for her physical diagnoses once she’s out of in-patient care, including a possible MRI and surgery. This is an urgent need, as much of the care Lindsey needs requires payment upfront.

This campaign is to help relieve that financial burden, but even more importantly relieve Lindsey's anxiety so she can find joy in life again.

We know that not everyone can donate, but even browsing Lindsey's blog  and sharing links to her recipes on social media will help them out financially as it earns ad revenue.
