Helping the Carley's

On August 12th, Jeremy was in a horrible motorcycle accident in which a vehicle stopped at a 2 way stop sign but did not see Jeremy prior to pulling out into the road. Jeremy was unable to stop his bike in time and he T boned a vehicle and got thrown off of the bike. EMS was quick to the scene, thanks to the wonderful people who witnessed the accident and we're available to help in any way they can. After arriving at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, he was med-flighted to Froedtert and was admitted to the ICU. After lots of tests, it was discovered that he had some blood in his brain, which didn't need surgery right away but it was going to be watched carefully. The base of his skull is fractured, and he also has a shattered wrist, broken arm, cracked ribs, and a broken pelvis. However, besides being in a lot of pain, he was responsive and stable.

The morning of the 13th, he was doing GREAT! He talked to many people and made sure to give us hell right back. We were all elated. As the day went on, he was becoming more tired but he was also getting pain meds. By evening, he became barely arouseable to pain and he was rushed of to get a CT scan which showed a sudden increase in the amount of blood in his brain which was causing too much pressure. The team at Froedtert was very quick to get together and rush him to surgery. They removed a flap of his skull to relieve pressure and they removed a clot that was on his brain. They were able to close his head without the skull flap and they left 2 drains in his head. He is on a ventilator and he's being kept sedated along with getting continuous pain medicine. Thankfully, he wakes up and follow commands when the sedation is off. The team is hoping to clean out his broken right arm today but they are unable to take him for surgery to fix it today but hopefully this week. At some point, he will also have to get his broken pelvis stabilized.

He has a very long road ahead of him and his wife, Yvonne, and his 3 children, Sammie, Gabby, and Paige, need all the love and support that you can offer throughout this time.
