Helping the Boyer Family

Donation protected

Kirk and Monica Boyer have been married for 22 ½ years.

They have had the opportunity to raise two beautiful children; Briana and Brandon whom are both still in college . Most of you know Kirk, and know him to be a vibrant, creative family man that is in the prime of his life. Hes been excited to see his children go off to college and chase their dreams and start their adult lives. Everything was falling into place for the Boyer family.

Suddenly in the spring of 2017 Kirk had not been feeling Well, and went to the doctor. Many doctor appointments later he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Kirk was told that he was a good surgical candidate and the family was hopeful that this surgical intervention would work. The surgery was scheduled 5 weeks out , and the date was set. A week before the scheduled surgery the family received further devastating news from his pre-op bloodwork. The cancer had spread and he was no longer a surgical candidate. Chemotherapy was suggested and Kirk championed through two rounds, but unfortunately this cancer did not respond. Kirk was then moved on to a clinical trials and again the family was hopeful this could work.

During all of this time Monica and Kirk put their house up for sale, as Kirk was no longer able to work and their income significantly decreased. Monica being the private and humble person that she is did not ask for any help from friends or family although they were struggling. Their house sold quickly and they just moved into a new apartment mid-December. A few days after their move Kirk was set to start his new treatment when they received more devastating news.

Kirk was far sicker then they realized. There was nothing else the doctors could do. Kirk was given a few weeks as his liver and kidneys are failing. Hospice came to meet with the family in their new apartment on 12/20/2017. The kids are home on winter break from their colleges and are now able to spend Kirks final weeks with him. This time of year makes it very difficult on the family to deal with this type of news.

Monica is now the sole provider trying to keep it together for her children, and to be able to continually provide for them as well as herself. She has some concerns regarding paying for the hospice care and final arrangements as his insurance coverage is still an unknown and the social workers are still trying to help her figure all of that out.

I am putting this together for Monicas family so that some of the financial burden can be lifted for Monica. The funds raised will allow Monica to take leave from work, so that she can spend time with her family during this difficult time. I have set the goal for 10,000.00; although it would be great if we could exceed that. Monica and Kirk have a undeniable love for one another and two beautiful children together. Kirks time here with us is limited and any amount will help allow this beautiful family time to spend with one another.

I am putting this go fund me campaign together for Monica and family. I have worked with Monica almost 10 years and we have become very close all these years. I have seen her children grow up and become outstanding young adults chasing their dreams as they attend two highly ranked universities. I have heard Monica speak fondly of her husband Kirk on a daily basis and I have been able to witness their love for one another and their family.

Please share this go fund me. Every donation amount helps and adds up.
