Rincon, Georgia (January 22, 2022) The Rincon Fire Department suffered a personal loss last night. Firefighter Hazard was on duty when he had to respond to a structure fire that happened to be his own house. The call came in just before midnight on Oak Drive in Effingham. The house was fully engulfed and is a total loss. The family of four escaped unharmed along with their three dogs. They also had three cats that sadly did not make it out. The Red Cross was contacted and is in the process of helping the family. At the moment they are in need of toiletries, clothes.
