Helping our Quilting Friends in Haywood County

Hi my name is Kim Polson. I am the owner of The Ponderosa and Summit Quilt Retreat . Our Quilting friends have been devastated by the local floods from Hurricane Fred in Haywood County, NC. The Cruso Quilt show has been canceled next weekend. This small local community has lost so much. There are still more than 25 people missing. This local quilt community helps so many in need with their proceeds from the show. Our county and local Churches are helping but we need to do more. Yesterday, Paul and I helped a family in Lake Logan. They had over 4 feet of mud in their basement. I was sent to the right family. Christie was a Quilter, Knitter and Crafter. She has lost all her supplies. Her sewing machine was covered in mud. It was really heartbreaking. We will be collecting supplies to help her once again to be able to create. Christy, like many others do not have insurance. This has been devastating for so many in our small town. Please help. Any amount can help these families. I have Contacted Mark Dunn at Moda and he was so happy to be able to help our Quilting Community in need. We will also be donating to the Blue Ridge Mountain Quilters. Their meeting location was also flooded and do not know where they will be meeting next. They are very active in Quilts of Valor. We appreciate every donation no matter the amount.
