THE PROBLEM . . . 

Despite quarantine restrictions slowly lifting, many lakeside families continue to struggle with having enough to feed themselves.  

Although there are several groups that are already working hard providing despensas (food packages) in the Chapala, Ajijic, and San Juan Cosalá areas , none provide service to the west end of the lake. Jocotepec DIF does provide some despensas in the area, but their resources are limited and many people in Jocotepec and surrounding pueblos are still in need.  


A SOLUTION . . . 

Jocotepec Vecinos Ayudando Vecinos (Jocotepec Neighbors Helping Neighbors) is a volunteer group established to bridge the gap by providing despensas to families in need at the west end of Lake Chapala.

After consultation with local authorities and other groups to determine areas in the greatest need and to avoid duplicating others’ efforts, our focus at this time is small pueblos within the Municipality of Jocotepec such as San Luciano, El Sauz, and others. 

100% of your donation will be used to purchase food products such as rice, beans, oatmeal, cooking oil, etc. for families in need during this challenging time. Donations of all sizes welcome...every bite counts.
