Helping my dad regain his home

In the late afternoon hours of October 16th 2021, while all of the commotion happened in the queens area my father Christopher Ubdegrove suffered a devastating fire to his home on 574 macdonnell street. Thankfully, he was out of town working in Thunder Bay painting.

Theirs not much work in Kingston and a lot of the time he has to travel to make a decent wage. As long as I can remember my dad has been the most hard working man I’ve ever met. Always trying his hardest to provide for myself and my brothers.

Unfortunately, the fire has left his home uninhabitable at this time. We are not allowed to enter the house for the next three days. I often visit my father when I’m in Kingston. I live 5 hours away and do not have a place of my own, now he has no where to go. Rent in Kingston is outrageous and the details of the insurance coverage, are still being determined. From all of the commotion with the Queen students flooding the streets drunken and obstructing the police we are unsure of what happened. The amount of stress this has put on my father has been insane as he’s hours away for work He’s worked his entire life for his things and now everything he’s worked for is gone.

Until the insurance company and police find out what’s the next step my dad Chris needs help in the interim.

Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs. I’m hoping we can help alleviate some of that as he starts to rebuild life and move forward. Anyone that knows my dad knows how wonderful and caring he is. He would drop anything to help anyone in need. Now he needs help and I’m beside myself because I can’t provide it.

We are hoping our fantastic friends can rally around such a truly amazing man and show them the love and support that this community represents. We want to show how much he is loved and help him rebuild. Thank you for any donations, I know he will appreciate it and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
