Hi everyone, im Melissa Greenberg, one of the moms in Mrs Sims' class this year. Some of you may already be aware that Ms Sims has had a difficult year working full time while taking care of an ill Mother with Cancer. Between Chemo appointments, moments of stress and still managing to tackle this year being an incredible teacher to her class and a mom to 2 girls also fellow Gulliver Students. You would believe it does not get any harder.
Except 2 weeks ago, her father was rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pains where they found a mass and after a biopsy, confirmed pancreatic Cancer.
Ms Sims and her Husband Coach Sims, work many hours as amazing staff members of the school and this summer will take lots of their time and finances to nurse both parents being Ill.
Im hoping the Gulliver community comes together to help Ms Sims get through the next 6-12 months with some cushion to freely manage her parents' care.
