Helping Melssa and the girls

Hello, my name is Cassie and I’m Melissa’s friend. Myself, along with some of Melissa’s closest friends are starting up this page to help support Melissa and her family during this very difficult time. 18 months ago Melissa was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumour. Melissa is 52 and the mother to two beautiful girls, Sophie and Bella. Tragedy struck this family 11 years ago when Henrik, Melissa’s husband and Dad to the girls, passed away with Cancer. Having the diagnosis of Melissa’s Cancer has absolutely shaken the ground under her family and friends. Melissa continues to be the most courageous, positive, giving and strong person that I know. She never complains and just wants the best future for her two girls. Unfortunately, in recent times Melissa has had her second brain surgery and is now unable to work or drive. Her girls work so hard in school (Bella doing year 12 this year) and also at home and with part time jobs to help make ends meet. Melissa’s brother Lo has also stepped in to assist at home and is also working long hours to support the girls. This GoFundMe page will hopefully provide the opportunity for Melissa, the girls and her family to enjoy their time with each other, without the pressure of how they can afford next months rent and groceries.

Anyone who knows Melissa, will know what an enormous heart she has and how hard she has worked to provide for her girls. You’d also know how she smiles through the hardest of times...she’s still doing this. 

I think about all of the people Melissa has touched in her life time and I know there are many people wanting to help during this time. Any support you can give is so greatly appreciated. If you can help out in anyway, I know Melissa, her girls and her family will be so humbled and grateful.
