LAURA LIEBSTER NEEDS YOUR HELP...

Our friend Laura had an unfortunate accident in early May, and is being released from Spaulding Rehab this week. She needs our help! In the holiday spirit, would you consider donating any amount you are able, to help Laura in her recovery and transition back to “normal” life at home?

With the intention of assisting COVID First Responders, she was preparing her home to accept medical staff that needed to be nearer to the hospital, and not go home and expose their families between shifts at the height of the pandemic. She fell and broke her ankle preparing for this generous act of selflessness. This is a terrible punishment for someone giving their heart and soul to such a good cause.

Laura has been through Hell, trying to recover from this ordeal. After surgery and hospitalization, she then went to rehab to learn how to cope with her not being able to use that leg, in the setting of prior shoulder injuries that precluded crutches. In rehab, she sustained a back injury that greatly complicated recovery and delayed her discharge. Laura's been a fierce, courageous patient, living and fighting to get better for six months in a small room, with the door closed at all times. Because of COVID, she wasn't allowed out of the room, nor allowed visitors. Frankly, we don't know how she has kept her head together through all this, under these circumstances, but she's managed it. And at last, she's finally going home!

This is where we come in, because her insurance coverage is abruptly ending - far too soon. She is essentially in the middle of restoring her mobility, and still needs help.  Her rehab will need to continue at home, and this situation worries us.  She lives alone and lacks close family. With COVID, it’s even harder for friends to help her in person. She needs to hire skilled people to assist her, and will also need to buy supplies and equipment for home use. Unfortunately, this is quite expensive.

Our sincere thanks for all donations to help Laura until she regains her strength. In this season of giving, would you please help this generous and determined woman to get her life back on track? Your generosity matters and will make a big difference in her life, and thus in the lives she touches.

Thank you,
Roni and Julie
