Helping Hearts - Amber and Sawyer
Donation protected
Hi everyone - I'm Stacy (Amber's sister, Sawyer's aunt) and I'm asking for any help that anyone is able to give as Amber, Troy and our families navigate a tough situation.
Amber has a rare condition called SCAD in which the arteries in her heart can tear randomly without warning. She has had three of these cardiac events, the most recent this past Sunday (12-13).
She was about 35 weeks pregnant at the time, and her doctors decided that she needed to have their baby boy via c section Tuesday morning. Baby Sawyer has been a ray of light in all of this. He needed some help breathing for about the first day, and the NICU team has been absolutely amazing!
Troy is the rock right now, going back and forth between Amber in the Cardiac ICU, and Sawyer in the NICU. Our connection to him and the updates he provides is our link because he is the only person able to visit either of them.
Yesterday things were scary but today things feel a little better. Amber had to have more stents placed in her heart. She's stable, awake, and Troy is with her. Sawyer continues to get stronger each day, and is learning how to eat from a bottle
There is no pressure or obligation to donate. But for those who are able and wishing to help, this is the best way to help for the moment. With both of them not working right now, and some question marks about what the future holds this is how immediate needs can be filled.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and donating. The positive energy, prayers and love are also felt and so helpful! I will try to update about once a day. If anyone wishes to contribute in other ways please contact me personally to find out how.
With unmeasurable appreciation,
Stacy
