Helping Hand for the Hill Family

On the evening of December 8th, 2019, Mrs. Leah Hill experienced a sudden medical emergency while home with her family. Leah, a young, seemingly healthy mother and wife, unexpectedly collapsed while sitting at the dinner table. Her husband, Joe, sprang into action and quickly discovered that his wife had stopped breathing and had no pulse. Realizing that Leah was in cardiac arrest, Joe began administering CPR, desperately trying to save her life – their children witnessing the traumatic events unfolding before them.
Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported Leah to the hospital. Doctors determined that her heart is only functioning at 30 percent and she has suffered a debilitating brain injury – Anoxic Brain Injury. Leah remains in a coma and the full extent of debilitation is currently unknown. On December 13th the family received a bit of good news, Leah was breathing on her own and was responding to pain stimuli. Joe and his young sons are profoundly concerned, as one can imagine, and they’re having a difficult time grasping their new reality.
Leah works for her hometown school system and had dedicated her life to helping children learn and grow. Joe works tirelessly to support his family in a career field that focuses on nature and the great outdoors. Leah, Joe, and family could certainly use some help with the unexpected tragedy that has impacted them all and changed their lives forever. In what is often a joyous time of year, full of happiness and cheer, I ask that you please find it in your heart to donate any amount to help this beautiful family. I ask also that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
