Helping Gabby Roman

Gabby Roman, my big sister, has always been a warrior, trying to do everything on her own without asking for help, as our mom taught us. But life sent her a  test that is making it diffucult for her to maintain her warrior attitude. On June 2017 she was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer with methastasis to the liver. She had surgery on July to remove the tumor from the colon, then went through 5 rounds of chemo, then got a big surgery on November to remove the tumors on the liver. She is now back on chemo to complete 7 more rounds, and though she has tried to get through all of this without asking for help, everyday it gets tougher. The costs of the deductibles for the surgeries, gas to get to the chemo treatments, the medications she has to take, among others, are piling up and everyday is more difficult to cover all of these. She even had to go back to work early while recuperating from her liver surgery on November because she couldn't find a substitute to cover her veterinary clinic for all the time she needed to be out and she did not want her clients to go unattended.

Clients, friends and other people from her community are helping, bringing her food or helping out any way they can. But there are others that are asking her or the family how can they help, and we wanted to make it easier for those that want to help and are not within driving distance. Through this Go fund me page you can donate money to Gabby and her beautiful little family to help her with all the additional expenses, so that she won't have to worry so much and  can focus on her health and getting rid of her cancer as soon as possible. Gabriela Roman, mi hermana mayor, siempre ha sido una guerrera, tratando de hacer todo sola sin pedirle ayuda a nadie, como nos enseñó nuestra madre. Pero la vida le envió una prueba que está haciendo más difícil que mantenga su actitud de guerrera. En Junio del 2017 ella fué diagnosticada con cancer de cólon etapa IV con metástasis en el hígado. En julio la operaron para remover el tumor en el cólon, luego pasó por 5 rondas de quimio y en noviembre tuvo una operación grande para remover los tumores en el hígado. Ahora está de vuelta en quimio para completar 7 rondas adicionales y, aunque ha tratado de superar todo el proceso sin pedir ayuda, cada día es más difícil. Los costos de los deducibles de las cirugías, gasolina para llegar a los tratamientos de quimioterapía, los medicamentos que tiene que tomar, entre otros, se están acumulando y cada día es más difícil cubrirlos todos. Hasta tuvo que regresar al trabajo antes de tiempo mientras se estaba recuperando de la operación del hígado en noviembre ya que no pudo conseguir alguien que la substituyera en su clínica veterinaria por todo el tiempo que necesitada estar fuera y no quería que sus clientes quedaran desatendidos.

Clientes, amigos y otras personas de su comunidad están ayudándola, llevándole comida o de cualquier otra manera posible. Pero hay varias personas que le han preguntado a ella o a la familia cómo pueden ayudar, y queríamos hacer más fácil el proceso para aquellos que quieren ayudarla. A través de esta página de Go fund me pueden donar dinero para ayudar a Gabriela y a su familia a cubrir esos gastos adicionales, de forma que no se tenga que preocupar tanto y pueda concentrarse en su salud y en eliminar el cancer lo más rápido posible.  Apreciamos enormemente cualquier ayuda que estén dispuestos a dar, sin importar la cantidad.
