Helping Federico Merida

Hello everyone, We are making this gofundme for Mr. Federico Merida, he is a 74 year old man from Hidalgo Mexico. All of his family lives in Mexico he has no one here. He makes a living selling ice cream and he sends his earlings to his family. Feredico rents a room in a home here in Salinas.  Yesterday Feb 22, 2018 he was working and while crossing the street on Natividad Rd pushing his ice cream cart (in the cross walk) he was hit by a female driver. Federico was taken to Natividad Medical Center unconcious and underwent surgery. My cousin Edgar and his wife Erika whom have become good friends with Federico went to the scene after recieving a call regarding an man who looked like their friend whom had been hit by a car, after confirming it was Feredicos cart and hat on the floor they went to Natividad Medical Center (NMC). At the hospital all they were told was that Feredicos was in the operating room (OR). Today Feb 23 my cousin went to see him, Feredico is in Intensive care unit (ICU) but stable. He has a few injuries: fractured ribs, broken arm, not to mention this poor man is also has high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes. Feredico shared that he was robbed before the accident. He was also worried about being hospitalized and not being able to go pay his rent which was due Sunday. My cousin said he would take care of it. He went to the residence and upon arrival he finds Feredicos belongins in plastic bags in the front porch. Now Feredico is not only injured and without work but also homeless. At this moment one of the owners (female) said that the police had been there and that they just don't want any problems. I made this page and am sure that the home owners saw it. My cousin went back again to speak with the other owner (male) he stated that it was all a miss understanding and not to worry that they will put the stuff back and Federico may still stay and rent there. But who knows if they will really still let him stay after all of this. It is sadning that some people are so heartless and would do such a thing to someone. At this time I am asking for any type of donation which may help this man in need. He has no family here, no medical insurance, no work, and no home. I am not sure how much he might really need but for the moment I will put $3000. We do know he will stay hospitalized for a while and he will need therapy. Am sure meds will be perscribed after being discharged. He can't walk, can't eat, poor man can hardly sit. Anything helps and is greatly appriciated. I will personally give Mr. Federico all donations, if you would like you may also go to the hospital personally to see him and give him the donation. He is at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas Ca room 304 Intersive Care Unit. In addition, We are trying our best to help him, if anyone else can help him please do. He is illiterate and needs much orientation. Anyone that knows about legal matters, I know he just informed his family and they want to come see him but I am not sure where to get more information regarding this. He was robbed and didn't make a report because he was later hit. He is very frightened he said he wants to just go with his family that he has suffered too much trying to reach the American Dream.
