Helping Darla fight cancer

On October 27th 2017 , Darla Holmstrom found out the devastating news that she has Stage 3 Colon Cancer. 5 days later she underwent a major colon surgery to remove the tumour. But her fight is not over. We have met with the Oncology team this week to start her treatment plan. This will mean a minimum of 6 months of chemotherapy beginning Dec 27th. Being that Darla works with children at both of her jobs her doctor and oncologist have advised that she can't return to work with her compromised immune system. So at this time she is worrying more about her financial future than her battle with this horrible disease.

Darla has spent a large portion of her life working with individuals with disabilities, children and families, and helping others through various fundraisers, all while raising 2 children on her own.

We are aware that the Christmas season can bring financial burden for many but along with Darla’s financial stress she is fighting the fight of her life. CANCER.
