Helping Business affected by the Cowes flooding

Donation protected
Hello all,

As you will no doubt be aware, the night of Monday 8th April 2024 saw the highest ever recorded tide reach the lovely town of Cowes, causing significant flood damage to multiple business's in the town, especially on the high street.

Due to the location of these properties, many business cant be insured or, if they can be, carry a high excess with multiple exclusions.

The high street is vital to Cowes, its residents, its visitors and the local economy. With proud and hard working business owners who for no fault of their own have incurred costs, disruption, extra work and loss of business.

Its another blow, after covid lockdowns and all the associated problems that caused to small business's and just as the economy is recovering, holiday season is upon us, this is the last thing they needed.

I (Paul) saw one lady burst into tears when she got to her shop on Tuesday morning, their pride and joy, their lively hood, their business just devastated.

We want to help, and looking for support to help these people with what ever we can to get back running as soon as possible and help mitigate losses, costs incurred and give some local business community spirit.

The Cowes network was formed to promote the amazing business's and people of Cowes, but to also use our network to help where we can.

To start this fund raiser, we are donating an initial £500 and sharing to our community.

Please, if you can support this, donate what you can and feel and share amongst your friends and network and collectively, lets come together and help these amazing business owners.

All monies raised will be given to business's on the high street that are directly effected by this flooding.

We will be announcing this fundraiser at our next event - at The Heron in Cowes on the 12th April where we are hosting over 90 guests.

Thankyou

Paul, Mark, Zoe, Rebecca
