Hi everyone, my name is Lisa, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times of our lives. Recently, I nearly lost my husband, Alex, after his bowel suddenly perforated. It was an incredibly frightening experience — but thanks to an amazing surgical team, his life was saved.

Alex is now on a slow but steady road to recovery, and while we are endlessly grateful that he’s still with us, the reality is that the next few months will be very difficult financially. He will not be paid while he’s off work recovering, and we’re facing a financial crisis as we try to manage everyday living costs, travel for follow-up care, and ongoing medical expenses.
