The past few months my brother Alfred has been experiencing rapid weight loss that unfortunately has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Sunday the family gathered to support Alfred in his decision to FIGHT! As we travel down these uncharted roads as a family, we do not know what to expect, but we do know we will be there to fight with Alfred! Below are words from Al’s Facebook Page…
“To all my Facebook family.
I want to let you know I've been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, and it's not the normal prostate cancer. It's very aggressive and has spread to my lungs, liver, kidney, back, abdomen and my bones. I'll be starting chemotherapy Friday along with several other treatments to attack the cancer as hard as possible. The support of my family and friends has been very inspiring. Helps me tremendously knowing they are behind me every step of the way. As you know when you need to fight cancer you need support in so many ways. My brother David Higuera is starting a Go Fund Me page to help with financial support to assist with all the related expenses you can encounter in this fight for your life.
I will fight as hard as God, and my body allows and know I Will Not Give Up.”
We want to raise money for the unexpected cost treatment, medical copay, and the unforeseen cost battling cancer in the late stages. We are limited on time knowing how much the cancer has spread so any donation of any size is deeply appreciated and a way of providing a shoulder for Al to lean on during this courageous battle he is undertaking. As I wipe away my tears writing about my brother I’m overwhelmed with the thought of what he will be going through in the next few months.
