Helping 18 Brunswick St Fire Victims Recover
On Friday, July 24th, an unexpected fire broke out at the residence of 18 Brunswick St and burned for over seven hours, causing extensive fire damage, as well as irreparable water damage to the building. No injuries were reported, but the damages are projected to be around the $1 million dollar mark.
This building and its occupants are now facing homelessness, not to mention the loss of all material possessions that resided in their apartment units. From our understanding, the house is to be demolished.
Please take an empathetic moment and think about these humans who have lost everything; many of these kind people who were affected would take their shirt off their back to do the same for another.
Being that this incident occurred in our tight-knit community of Stratford where we are always lending each other a helping hand, and rooting for success for each other, we think fundraising is the least we can do. Especially when low-income housing is hard to come by.
If you are in direct contact with any of the residents of 18 Brunswick St, please feel free to message Jodi LE or Jami McLennan directly on Facebook and let us know if there is anything else that anyone needs. We have a line on a two-bedroom apartment for a short-term stay from a very kind lady who lives in the downtown core.
Thank you for taking the time to read!
Look out for one another.
