Help get Jack to Argentina

Donation protected
Jack Klem was born Deaf. And at just 12 years of age, he is about to represent Australia on the world stage.

Jack is one of a handful of young Australians who has been chosen to attend the International Deaf Leadership Camp in Argentina in 2018. This prestigious event only takes place every four years – places are limited and competition is fierce. Only the brightest are selected to attend the conference.

This is where young Deaf people learn to be leaders. They are given world-class leadership training and mentoring. For all of the participants, this will be their first experience of international sign language. This is a crucial introduction that will open up study and work opportunities on a larger scale. It will also be the first time many of the participants will be in the company of Deaf children from other countries.

“I am Jack Klem and I am 12 years old. I am proudly Deaf. I love Doctor Who, Pokémon Go and Minecraft! I go to Shenton College Deaf Education Centre but I’m in mainstream classes. It’s an awesome school because it has lots of friends and lots of interpreters! I love to cook and video gaming. I’m excited about going to Argentina next year to the Deaf camp! — Jack”

Your support would mean the world to Jack. If we reach beyond our target all further proceeds will be donated to the World Federation of Deaf.
