Help for Twinkie

This is Twinkie P. She’s a rescue pup that was pulled from a shed with 30 other Pomeranians from a backyard breeder. She came to stay with us about three years ago because her living situation became difficult when she was bitten in her left eye by her Pommie sister. Her original Mom tried to save her eye as did we, but the damage was too deep and she had to have surgery to remove it. Going through that process with her, I fell madly in love with her, her strength, her loving personality. She’s just the sweetest 4.5 pounds of unconditional love.
Just 2 weeks ago we started noticing that she was having trouble seeing. We got an emergency appointment with the first of 3 eye specialists, tests and medications to find out that she has a detached retina (she’s now blind), 3 days later another Dr told us that her lens had shifted. We have been administering 6 medications 19 times a day for glaucoma and inflammation, and in constant prayer, just trying to save her eye. And we have had 6 Doctors visits in less than 2 weeks.
In the last 2 days she seems to be in more pain and discomfort. Her eye is swollen, she will no longer open it, and she just wants to sleep all of the time. We have had to make the difficult decision to remove her eye for her comfort and quality of life. It’s so devasting, the thought of this tiny little dog undergoing anesthesia, but we must do what is best for her to move forward and learn to live with her new disability.
This is the baby and one of 3 senior pet children that we have. In the last 6 months we have incurred around 10K in vet bills and medications. We take care of our animals and have been doing everything in our power to do so but this has become an urgent situation and surpassed our financial ability to complete her treatment. The cost for her eye surgery, anesthesia is $1900. We are hoping to raise the money for her to have surgery as soon as possible.
