Lisa is a fantastic friend to the community. She has worked tirelessly over the last 23 years to improve the lives of people in the State of Alabama through her contribution of working at several non-profit organizations such as SafeHouse, Suicide Prevention, ALS and currently, for the Alzheimer’s Association.

While driving home from a friend’s house on Friday 9th February, Lisa was involved in a single car accident. Unfortunately, she had crashed near a remote heavily wooded area and in trying to find her way back to the road to find help, lost her way in the dark and became lost in the woods. Police and search teams worked hard to find her, but due to poor weather conditions, it wasn’t until the morning of Sunday 11th, over 36 hours since she went missing, that she was finally located by a search team after managing to survive alone in the woods in heavy rain. Although Lisa beat the odds this time and has shown her strength and resilience in surviving this traumatic ordeal.  She now faces a difficult recovery period and would greatly benefit from our support.

Lisa is a single mother of two and will be out of work for some time. Any donations received will be used to help cover medical costs and supplement her loss in income before she is healthy enough to return to work.  She is also now without a car which was her only means of transport to work and funds will also be used to help towards any car costs. In short, your money will help Lisa to continue to support her family and focus on her recovery before she returns to work at the Alzheimer’s Association and to her love of helping other families in need.

We are going to do everything that we can to support Lisa, but we can’t do it alone. We are asking everyone--friends, family, and anybody who knew or worked with Lisa--for their support. We simply want to make Lisa’s life a little easier following such a traumatic event and until she is back on her feet again.
