Faheemah's Emergency Moving Fund

Peace and Blessings, 

My name is Faheemah, many of you know me from my work as a community organizer in Bakersfield. Others may know me from the Muslim community, or from our Facebook community.  No matter what  way we have crossed paths you all are part of my community, and I am now coming to my community to ask for assistance. 

On Saturday November 10th I was the victim of an attempted break-in at my home. Around 7 o'clock pm a man entered the premises and tried to break down the gate outside of my apartment. I was at home alone and I called 911. When the officers arrived the man was gone but my neighbors reported that there was a man on my staircase at the time. I was afraid to stay there alone so I went to my parent's house. On sunday I purchased a video doorbell surveillance camera and installed it at my apartment. I was afraid to go home because the man shook my gate so hard it was difficult to lock it and I felt unsafe. 

I told myself I would not return to that apartment until the gate was fixed so my daughters and I have been staying with a family member until my apartment sends the maintenance man out to fix the gate. Well last night November 14, 2017 there was another attempted break-in at my apartment around 9:30 two men and a woman are seen on my surveillance camera bypassing my broken gate and going onto my property. I have attached the video here for anyone who wants to look at it.  I called 911 and reported  the incident but they were gone by the time the police arrived. I have not slept at my house since Saturday, my children have not slept at our house since Saturday. Given all of the break-ins and recent shootings (and murders) of women and children in Bakersfield I am afraid for my life. I do not make a habit of asking people for help but family I need help. I need to get out of my lease and secure a new home for me and my girls.  I just moved into this apartment in September and I used all of my savings to move. This situaiton is time sensitive and critical. Please donate anything you can to help us get out of this lease and move. I am a single mother with two children, If you know me then you know I take care of my girls, I take care of my community and I handle my business. It is taking a lot for me to even ask for help, but the Creator has taught me that sometimes you have to put your pride to the side and that's what I am doing. Please donate what you can, thank you.
