Help Briana and Angela!

Back in June of this year, my best friends Briana Lopez and Angela Warren found an opportunity to move back to St. John in the Virgin Islands. Using every bit of their combined savings and with the blessings of family and friends, these fearless ladies moved to St. John in July. By late August they had secured jobs, housing, and then Hurricane Irma devastated the island and stole their dreams to live there.
Now, like many people in the Caribbean and on the US mainland, they have to start over. Bri and Ang cannot stay on St. John and support themselves, and this disaster happening right after investing all their savings makes the struggle to start over even more overwhelming.
Like many of us, these women have monthly debt including car payments, auto insurance, student loans, and all the other costs of living. They are also faced with shipping costs for their car, and moving costs of an apartment rental, deposit, etc. These costs come out to over $10K!
The good news is, of course, that they survived this tragedy and have a community to celebrate them and can help lift them up to start again. While none of us alone could help them start over, each of us can make a difference in their lives.
If you know Bri very well, you know that she has a love of mixology and is a fantastic bartender with a love of all spirits. If you saw these ladies out at a bar you might want to buy them a drink or a round to toast their survival and wish them well. Since we can’t all do that, I thought it would be great if we could lift them up by donating a “beverage or a round at the bar.”
