Help Baby Sofia & family

I apologize for the long story here . But details are needed to fully understand . So a few months ago , my fiancé and I decided we wanted one more baby to finish our family . I quickly became pregnant within a few months of trying . Yay ! A week or so after having an ultrasound to determine how far I was , I began to bleed heavily . It lasted for about 3 weeks and I was taken off work on February 5th 2019 due to these issues and not being able to lift a certain weight (I'm an apprenticing mechanic). I really didn't want to risk this pregnancy . I went to the ER and was told that either it was a miscarriage or just a hemorrhage and could pass and all will be fine . Within this time , I had another ultrasound which seemed to find a pocket in my uterus (which they suspected was just a hemorrhage) phew ! So back to normal , or so I thought . She had survived and nothing else went wrong until I hit about 15 weeks . I had another ultrasound to determine the sex of our baby . Turns out it was a girl ! The perfect addition to our family as I already had a young boy . But the tech saw the pocket again and again questioned what it could be as I was no longer bleeding . We couldn't find an answer . So off again I went , living my regular life as the baby looked healthy and had a great heart beat . At my 20 week ultrasound they found that I had a shortened cervix and a small placental abruption . So back I was on bed rest for a little while . Not able to do photography or mechanic work due to the weight restrictions I was on and the long hours I had to work on my feet at both my jobs . I then had to see my OB and have an ultrasound every two weeks due to the issues I was having . At my next ultrasound they found that I had polyhydramnios (so too much amniotic fluid). They could not figure out why . My baby seemed healthy with a great heart beat , all fingers and toes accounted for . So we move along . Because of having too much amniotic fluid I then had to go for a weekly ultrasounds and weekly appointments with my OB . At around 32 weeks , I was in a car accident and had my car basically written off . I was rushed to the hospital via an ambulance where it was discovered that I was in preterm labour with a larger placental abruption . They did everything they could to stop my labour as I was already 3-4cm dilated and contracting . We didn't want a preemie ! And it worked ! I was allowed to leave the hospital and go home after 6 days . I was left on bed rest and my baby stayed in for a little while longer . My fiancé also happened to be admitted into the hospital for about a week , right after I got out , due to health issues . Which stopped him from working (he is the sole earner in our household). Every week I'd go back into the office and the OB was stunned to find out how much more water I had . Again , with no explanation of why it was happening . Finally at 37 weeks she decided to induce me as I no longer had anymore room for the baby , the water and my organs . My labour was relatively smooth . Other than the risk that the cord could prolapse because I was already dilated with SO much amniotic fluid . So I had to be prepped for an emergency csection while they broke my water and hoped for the best . It turns out , I was able to vaginally give birth to my baby girl after about 12 hours of being in labour . At 3:36am on July 18th 2019 , my baby girl Sofia was born ! I was beyond happy . I was able to hold her , skin on skin , for about 10 minutes before they realized something was wrong with her breathing and it was laboured . They took her straight to the nursery to see if they could find out what was wrong . After 4 X-rays they found that not only did she have 13 ribs on one side (we normally only have 12) , she also had a fused vertebra in her spine and her left ear was not fully formed and had no ear canal . She will be deaf in her left ear for her entire life that we know of . The X-rays also showed that her esophagus was not fully attached to her tummy (she wasn't able to eat anything) and she had a bowel blockage . She was missing parts of her bowels ! There was nothing I could do to have fixed this , this was how she was formed from the beginning with no ultrasounds picking it up . When they realized this , they did all they could to help her . She was fitted with a suction tube to get out the water from her lungs and air ways . She was also monitored every minute for her vital signs . She was breathing much better ! She then had to be transferred to McMaster hospital in Hamilton to have emergency surgery due to her bowel and esophagus issues . The surgery began at 9:40 pm . We now await an update . With all of these issues coming into play , the team at McMasters believes they will need her for a few weeks . Which means , we will need funds to travel to and from the hospital , parking expenses , Ronald McDonald house expenses and gas . I am on mat leave and already get next to nothing for a pay . Not to mention , my fiancé will be off of work for a little bit to help take care of the baby and our son . I also happen to be taking care of my elderly retired father who lives with us in Kitchener . With all of these extra expenses , on top off our mortgage , I am unsure how we will make due . We need help with these expenses asap . Anything and everything is really appreciated ! Even if you just share the campaign ! I want to thank you all for helping in any way that you can . We are really unsure what will come with Sofia's future needs as well so all funds will be going to helping her . We will update as much as we possibly can !
