Hello Everyone:
      My name is Ariana Michelle Irizarry and I was born July 15th of this year. A few hours after being born I was transferred to a pediatric intensive care unit and I’ve been there since. During my first month out in the world I have had 5 surgeries and there is still one coming soon. I was born with Omphalocoele, which is a type of abdominal wall defect in which the intestines, liver and occasionally other organs remain outside of the abdomen in a sac because of a defect in the development of the muscles of the abdominal wall. In my case it was just a small part of my intestine and I had this fixed when I was 3 days old. I was also diagnosed with Chromosome 9 Ring. This is a disorder in which there is breakage of chromosome 9 at both ends, and the ends of the chromosome join together to form a ring. Affected children may have unusual facial features, heart defects, moderate to severe mental retardation and skeletal abnormalities. The doctors have told my mommy that this disorder is going to affect my growth and development as time goes by.
      I am currently very delicate health wise, and hooked up to several machines at a Children’s Hospital in Puerto Rico. My parents have decided to move to Connecticut where I could get better treatment at Yale- New Haven Children's Hospital. My recovery here is going to be a very long process and my parents have looked for ways to get me to CT. After looking for several options, they have decided to hire an ambulance company called Air Ambulance Worldwide, Inc and they have given them a quote of Standard Price: $27,700 USD My mommy and I would greatly appreciate if you could help me with any donation . My family has faith that I am going to get better soon with the help of God and the help of the right treatments.

      Mi nombre es Ariana Michelle Irizarry y nací el de 15 de Julio de este año. Pocas horas después de haber nacido, fui trasladada a una unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos. Este ha sido mi casa desde entonces, Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital. Durante mi primer mes en el mundo he tenido cinco cirugías y pronto tendré que pasar por otra. Nací con Onfalocele, que es un tipo de defecto de la pared abdominal en el cual los intestinos, el hígado y otros órganos de vez en cuando se quedan fuera del abdomen en un saco por un defecto en el desarrollo de los músculos de la pared abdominal. En mi caso solo fue una pequeña parte de mi intestino y a solo tres días de nacida me lo arreglaron. También, fui diagnosticada con Cromosoma 9- Anillo. Este es un trastorno en el que hay rotura del cromosoma 9 en ambos extremos, y los extremos de los cromosomas se unen para formar un anillo. Los niños afectados pueden tener rasgos faciales inusuales, defectos del corazón, de moderada a grave retraso mental y anomalías esqueléticas. Los médicos le han dicho a mi mamá que este trastorno va a afectar mi crecimiento y desarrollo al pasar los años.
      Actualmente estoy muy delicada de salud y estoy conectada a varias máquinas en la unidad de cuidado intensivo pediátrico. Mis padres han decidido mudarse a Connecticut, donde podrían conseguir un mejor tratamiento en el Yale- New Haven Children’s Hospital. Mi recuperación aquí va a ser un proceso muy largos dicen los médicos y mis padres quieren llevarme lo más pronto posible cuando este lo suficiente estable para viajar. Después de buscar varias opciones, han decidido contratar a una empresa de ambulancias llamada Air Ambulance Worldwide, Inc y les han dado un precio: $27,700 USD. Mi familia y yo les agradeceríamos mucho si usted me podría ayudar con cualquier donación.
