Juan Zavala's Medical Fund

Two weeks ago our cousin Juan Zavala suffered a brain hemmorhage and is currently hospitalized at Scripps La Jolla. He has been in ICU under sedation to stabilize his condition. He has been fighting a fever and doctors are keeping him comfortable after developing a rash which may be a reaction to medications. He is being weaned off the breathing tube. Today his breathing and brain tubes were finally removed and he was able to speak. Although he was unsure about his wherabouts, he answered some questions correctly and is slowly making progress. He has a long recovery ahead which will most likely include therapy. We do not know the extent of the damage to his brain function and fine motor skills.  His girlfriend and immediate family have been at his side day & night,  ensuring someone is with him at all times so he is not alone in the hospital. Juan is a caring son, brother,  cousin and faithful friend. He is not one to burden others with his problems but is always willing to listen or help others if he can. Any funds donated will be used towards medical expenses, loss of wages and personal expenses.
